NYOFACE Football League | Dynasty Football League | Fantasy Football: Salary Cap, Auction Draft, Keepers, Rookie Draft
NYOFACE Football can spread out its Auction Draft until the start of the NFL season on September 7. Trying to schedule a one-time Auction Draft with owners in NorCal, SoCal, Seattle and Minnesota is a nightmare in itself. With owners unavailable due to coaching volleyball and basketball, as well as vacations and birthdays, it's almost impossible to nail down a time slot. But it seems we can use Yahoo Waivers as our auction draft.
I set the Test-NYOFACE 'Draft Status' to ready on Thursday. Yahoo Auto-Draft completed on Thursday 9 PM PDT. I cleared every team's rosters today, and I successfully entered a $1 bid on Arizona RB David Johnson. The waiver claims should process overnight.
We have 54 days until the NFL kicks off with the Kansas City Chiefs vs the New England Patriots on September 7. We've got options on how we do our 2017 Auction Draft / Waiver Claims.
How about this?
- Bid on one player/defense each night for the first 10 days. If we have 10 teams, each team could then have 1 starter out of the required 8 starters. This gives each owner a feel on how to bid and use his salary cap.
- After the first 10 players in 10 nights, we can do 2 PLAYERS/DEFENSES for the next 20 days. That's 2 more starters potentially added to each team. After 30 days, each team could have 3 starters. Each owner has a better feel for the free agent market.
- Day 31-40, we can bid on 5 players per night. That's 50 starters in 10 nights. Each team's starting lineup could be filled up after 40 days.
- Day 41-50, we bid on 10 players per night. Or we can even make it a totally open auction starting with Day 41. No pressure, no rush. Each team's roster of 20 slots should be full by the Kickoff Game.
