Our Dynasty Football League Has a Max of Two Defenses Per Team

Manny petitioned the league to allow "unlimited defenses" per his post.  Only Melvin and I responded to the post.  But Manny brought it up via group text; all owners who responded vetoed the petition.

Per Manny's comment on July 24: "Okay, we can only have 2 defense and 2 kickers , but no limits on qbs? No limit on wr and rb?"  Both Manny and Tex proposed limiting the "unlimited quarterbacks" on each roster.

Below is what I posted last year July 19 per ROSTER REQUIREMENTS.  We evolved to this after 4 years as a redraft league and 9 years as a dynasty league.

The league requires each team to have the following on its 20-man roster: QB1, RB1, RB2, WR1, WR2, TE1, K1, DEF1, QB2, RB3, RB4, WR3, WR4, TE2, K2, DEF2, QB3 and 3 Open positions.

I used to be able to monitor all rosters through the Auction Draft since we used Yahoo Instant Messenger conferences.  Each owner monitored his team roster and requirements.  With a Bid Time Limit of 10 seconds per player in the Auction Draft, I didn't think I could monitor all rosters and conduct the best auction draft I could as an owner.  So I let the position requirements slide.

Starting with next weekend's Auction Draft, we will enforce the Roster Requirements once again.

We can drop the K2 requirement and make it an open position.  Each team will only be required to sign a K2 when the team's K1 is on a bye.

The roster requirement is then:  QB1, RB1, RB2, WR1, WR2, TE1, K1, DEF1, QB2, RB3, RB4, WR3, WR4, TE2, DEF2, QB3 and 4 Open positions.

Most teams have drafted 2 rookies in this year's Rookie Draft.  Those teams will have 4 open positions to fill.  JF has 1 rookie on his "Practice Squad."  Jtown will have 5 Open positions to fill in the Auction Draft to get to the required roster size of 22.
