ALLOW TRADES OF 2020 PICKS OR SHORTEN TO 2019 PICKS?
Teams could trade draft picks two years out prior to 2017. With the 2018 Offseason being the first when league owners can trade Rookie Draft picks (since 2011), the League Office had planned on pulling it back to just the following year. Since there were no trades in 2017, and teams have not yet consummated any deals, the league will put this up for a vote. Please vote on one of the choices:- Owners can trade draft picks two years out. This is a continuation of the current rule from the old league. Since we're in the 2018 season, teams can trade picks from the 2020 Rookie Draft.
- Owners can trade draft picks in the current year and the following year. Since we're in the 2018 season, teams can trade picks from the 2018 and 2019 drafts only.
We need to get at least 8 votes out of 12 (2/3 majority) to set the rule. Otherwise, the league will go with shortening to allowing trades of picks in just the following year.
